The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the superintendent, the deputy superintendent for programs and treatment is responsible for overseeing and developing polcies concerning inmate services and treatments. Inmate observation forms created by shift operators are maintained by the deputy superintendent to monitor the behavior of inmates deemed to be self-destructive.
